| | | Maureen (Mikey) Howard has been practicing law in New Hampshire since 2001, and has been seeing clients in her Portsmouth office since 2007. She provides guidance and advocacy in a broad range of cases, and helps clients navigate through the legal process efficiently and successfully. She represents clients in matters such as divorces and parenting issues, denial of Social Security claims, civil disputes, and estate planning. By combining up-to-date legal knowledge with extensive litigation and mediation experience, she works with her clients to achieve the best possible outcome for each individual case. Mikey has also been involved with numerous successful New Hampshire Supreme Court appeals, and is comfortable pursuing matters to the highest court in the state.

| Mikey's practice areas include family law, probate matters, estate
planning, social security appeals, general civil disputes, and
appellate litigation. She has achieved favorable results for her
clients in cases such as:- Lawsuit to overturn the
fraudulent transfer of out-of-state real estate in connection with New
Hampshire property settlement, including attachment of defendant's bank
accounts and transferee's bank accounts;
- Litigation to secure
payment for construction work done as subcontractor for large
international corporation, with claim for damages against a municipal
bond in Massachusetts;
- Mediated adoption in Termination of Parental Rights case, resulting in retained rights for birth parent;
- Fully favorable decisions in vast majority of Social Security appeals and APTD appeals;
- Modifications of parenting schedules and child support obligations.
Mikey's work as an intern in the Civil Bureau of the New Hampshire
Attorney General's office and as a judicial intern for The Honorable
Norman H. Stahl of the First Circuit Court of Appeals has provided her
with valuable insights into the legal process, and have trained her to
analyze complicated cases more effectively. Additionally, she is a registered nurse and currently holds a per diem position in a
CCU/ICU in Bay Shore, New York. She earned CCRN certification more than 20 years ago. While in law school, Mikey worked in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit of
the Mass. General Hospital, caring for critically ill patients from all over the world. With over 30 years experience a a critical care
nurse, she is familiar with the dynamics of stressful situations, and has developed skills that are invaluable in handling sensitive issues on behalf
of her clients. Prior to becoming an attorney, she earned an undergraduate degree in French and a master's degree in English, as well as New York State teaching certification. She is currently working towards certification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Mikey currently serves on the Board of
Directors of the HUB Family Resource Center in Dover, NH. She is a past president of the Board of Directors of the Oyster River
Otters Swim Team in Durham, NH, and was the Spanish coordinator for the
World Language Club at Mast Way School in Lee, NH.
